Engel & Völkers raises $15,000, 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Engel & Völkers tees off in style and raises $15,000 for NSCSS at their 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament

[WEST VANCOUVER, BC] – North Shore Crisis Services Society (“NSCSS” or “SAGE Transition House”) extends its deepest appreciation to Engel & Völkers for their philanthropy. The company hosted its first-ever Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Wednesday, July 12 at the Gleneagles Golf Course & Clubhouse and raised $15,000 for NSCSS.

The Engel & Völkers Charity Golf Tournament was organized by Real Estate Advisor, Leslie McGuire. She brought together a vibrant group of real estate agents and industry professionals to support women and children fleeing abuse and surviving violence on the North Shore.

“We wanted to support a local initiative that can make a positive impact in our very own community,” says Leslie McGuire, Engel & Völkers. “When I heard about NSCSS and the impact they have on improving, and in some cases, saving the lives of hundreds of women and children… it felt like the right fit. Helping families achieve a better quality of life in any capacity is something that I hold near and dear to my heart. We look forward to our continued support… and can’t wait for next year’s tournament!”

This year’s theme was 70’s fashion. Golfers dressed in funky vintage disco glamour and boho chic. After the tournament, participants gathered in celebration at the clubhouse for food and drinks, a silent auction, live auction, and 50/50 raffle.

NSCSS thanks Aral Corumlu and Jeff Fitzpatrick for generously donating their prizes from the event. Corumlu bid $900 for a new mountain bike and donated the bike to NSCSS. Fitzpatrick also donated his winnings from the 50/50 raffle, adding $480 to the total amount raised.

NSCSS also acknowledges the kind support of the event’s volunteers and following sponsors: Good Riddance Organizing, Innovative Fitness West Vancouver, ISHOT, Nuraney Law Group, Woodrose Homes Ltd., Adam Becker Design, David Brighton, Faisal Vallani, Julie McGuire, and Patricia Wright.

“We are deeply appreciative of third-party fundraisers that bring people together in support of our cause,” says Sandra Lee, Manager, Communications and Development, NSCSS. “The Engel & Völkers Charity Golf Tournament raised vital funds for our organization and will reach our clients in the form of a pathway out of violence. The tournament’s success reinforces our ability to deepen our impact and continue making a difference. For that and more, we are truly grateful.
