Our heartfelt thanks to the North Shore Mountain Bike Association

NSCSS thanks the NSMBA for their support at the June 8 WTNB Fiver Series. This Fiver is part of NSCSS x NSMBA’s summer philanthropic initiative, BREAK THE CYCLE: Ride & Run for Gender Justice.

[NORTH VANCOUVER, BC] – North Shore Crisis Services Society (NSCSS) was honoured and grateful to take part in the NSMBA WTNB Fiver Series on June 8th with Fiver Sponsor, Ferrari Construction. NSMBA members raced in 3 unique trails on Mt. Fromme and enjoyed a lively post-ride après to connect with the community and help fundraise for NSCSS. The NSMBA had also generously offered to donate each rider’s $5 participation fee, which would’ve typically helped to cover essential operating costs, such as trail maintenance and hosting community events.

Riders then gathered at Copperpenny Distilling Co. for the après party where members enjoyed wings, pizza, and a special drink menu, The full event program provided an incredibly memorable experience and the venue was filled the room with animated energy. Lucky winners took home great raffle prizes from Bluebird Sponsors Vancity and Mountain Biking Tourism Association. Members also purchased limited-time BREAK THE CYCLE apparel and stickers to power the fundraiser (thank you, Danielle Adams, your art was a huge hit!).

“An NSMBA Membership means so much more than access to events,” said Sandra Lee, Manager of Communications and Development, NSCSS. “They strongly promote sustainability while fostering a friendly, supportive. and active community. Under their leadership, people are excited to engage.

The more people see us, the safer we become.

A week before the Fiver, a local rider shared their thoughts on BREAK THE CYCLE with us. As a person who identified as WTNB, it meant a lot to them to see an established organization like the NSMBA promote WTNB/WTF riding events. To them, this representation was very powerful, positive, and rare to see. Having the NSMBA be the main supporter for a cause that they thought was important to both riders and the wider community really made an impact.”
