RBC Lends a Helping Hand at Good Stuff Connection Thrift Store
Thank you RBC for supporting our Clothing Program and volunteering at Good Stuff Connection Thrift Store!
Thank you to Charul, Mahshid, Preethi, and Victor from RBC for generously volunteering your time at Good Stuff Connection Thrift Store.
This volunteer initiative was part of RBC’s Communities Together Fund, which also provided a generous $1,500 grant to support our Clothing Program. Their contribution ensures we can continue offering essential goods to our community.
At Good Stuff Connection, donations of clothing, shoes, bedding, books, kitchenware, and household essentials help fund NSCSS programs, while our Clothing Program, based in the store, ensures those in need can access free clothing and necessities through our voucher system. Last year alone, the program supported 523 women, children, and men, distributing more than $20,000 worth of essentials.
RBC volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help us sort donations, organize inventory, and keep our store a warm, welcoming space for shoppers and program participants. By pitching in, they helped make sure our Clothing Program could continue providing Welcome Kits for new clients, Start-Up Kits for families moving into permanent housing, and quality essentials for the community.
With rising costs of housing and food, leaving an abusive situation is becoming increasingly difficult, especially for women with children. The support from volunteers like the RBC team helps lessen some of these challenges.
To RBC: thank you for choosing to spend your time with us and for showing what it means to support the community. Your involvement strengthens our mission and makes a real difference for the women and families we serve.
