10th Anniversary Gala of Grace Raises $200,000, Marking Milestone for Community Support on the North Shore

Gala of Grace highlights a practical and deeply engaged community response, meeting a growing need with collective action.

The 10th Anniversary Gala of Grace, Presented by Beem Credit Union, brought together nearly 300 women and allies on Friday, April 17 in support of women and children impacted by gender-based violence and domestic abuse. Through donations and pledges, the event surpassed its $200,000 fundraising goal, marking a heartfelt milestone in the Gala’s 10-year history.

While the result is worth celebrating, organizers emphasize that the true story lies in what this moment represents: a growing demand for services, and a community that’s motivated to take action.

Alongside this growing momentum, demand continues to outpace available resources. Women and families leaving emergency housing still face limited options, highlighting the importance of sustained community investment and support.

“The impact of this will be felt directly by those accessing our services, and we’re excited to be moving forward with plans to expand supportive housing programs,” says Sandra Lee, Gala of Grace Chair.  “We’re looking forward to the day we can share more, but for now want to express how grateful we are to our sponsors, volunteers, and community for their generosity and willingness to being part of the solution.”

Looking ahead, priorities include expanding safe housing capacity, improving access to services, and strengthening community partnerships that support women and children in the long term.
