From North Shore to Transylvania: One Epic Ride for Shelter
Transylvania Ride for Shelter is hosted by the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation in support of women’s shelters and prevention programs
This summer, NSCSS is cheering on Iain Edmonds as he takes on the mountain roads of Romania’s legendary Transylvania region — a journey that’s about much more than adventure.
In August 2026, Iain will take part in a 7-day motorcycle ride through the southern Carpathian mountains in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and Canadian women’s shelters, including North Shore Crisis Services Society. Riding alongside Royal LePage colleagues from across the country, Iain will travel 200–300 kilometres each day, navigating some of Romania’s most iconic roads, including the world-famous Transfăgărășan Road and Transalpina Pass — Romania’s highest paved road at 2,145 meters!
While the views will be unforgettable, the journey will also bring its share of challenges, with long days on high mountain roads, sharp hairpins, and rapidly changing weather. But for Iain, it’s clear the challenge is worth it.
“I know the adventure ahead will test me both physically and emotionally, but I’ve raised my hand because I believe that a house is only a home when the people who live there feel safe.”
Leading up to this incredible adventure, Iain and the North Shore Real Estate Team hosted an event at the Lynn Valley Legion, sponsored by RBC. Together, they raised $3,540 for NSCSS, bringing Iain closer to his $10,000 fundraising goal.
Funds raised through Iain’s ride will help support women and children affected by intimate partner violence, with 80% directed to women’s shelters and 20% supporting programs aimed at preventing violence across Canada.
We are incredibly grateful to Iain, the North Shore Real Estate Team, RBC, Lynn Valley Legion, and everyone who attended and contributed to this important cause.
Help Iain reach his $10,000 goal and support women and children seeking safety, hope, and healing. Every donation helps make safe spaces and essential services across Canada possible!
